The type of activity is popularly called ‘spot-the-differences’. Research published recently showed the different effects of comprehension of reading on paper versus reading on screen. Paper-based reading produced better outcomes. The authors said:

Reading a text does not imply that it does not have many unitary meanings potentially accessible to all.
